The twin towns of Boyne Island and Tannum Sands are located 20 minutes south of Gladstone, Queensland Australia, just off the southern tip of the great barrier reef. Boasting perfect summer climates all year round, and miles of scenic walkways, the town is one of Queensland’s best kept secrets. Fishing is abundant in the local Boyne river as well as the Awoonga Dam, which is renown for its fresh water barramundi. There are sheltered picnic areas and playgrounds, great landscaped foreshores with free BBQ and family facilities, and a skate/bike park. A wonderful place to visit, particularly for the Easter Coconet Classic weekend!
